Grimloch's Sticks & Stones blog system is the culmination of many long and tedious hours of coding. I hope you enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed creating it. A large amount of credit must go to the creator of the " FlatPress Blog", Edoardo Vacchi(NoWhereMan) currently maintained by Arvid Zimmermann, which my system is loosely modeled from.
FlatPress Blog runs on many web servers (e.g. Apache or IIS) with PHP 5.6 or higher. Since all data is stored in text files, no database is needed. However, my home-grown conversion requires PHP-Fusion CMS and a MySQL database.
When I began my quest to find a good blog system, because I'm not comfortable using WordPress, I did not know that it would be so difficult. I looked at many different systems before I decided to write my own. Doing so has been one of the greatest scripting challenges of my entire computing journey. It may not be pretty and is probably quite different from blogs you may be familiar with but it is functional, user friendly and was a labor of love.
A special thanks to my friend and colleague Fred Bonani who provided deep insight and coding assistance for this monumental project. It would not have been possible without his unswerving commitment to excellence and integrity in coding practices.
